Scripps and Secova to Present Webinar Highlighting Successful Dependent Eligibility Verification Review
2007 Review Identified Over 10.7% Ineligible Dependents Resulting in Over $3 Million Cost Savings the First Year Alone
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., February 5, 2008
- Secova, a leading provider of human resource and benefits management services, today announced its next educational webinar scheduled for later this month focused on Scripps Health's recent Dependent Eligibility Verification Review. The Scripps project resulted in identifying over 10.7% ineligible dependents and over $3.5 million savings during the first year.
During the webinar Dayna Pearson, corporate benefits manager for Scripps who directed the project internally, and Bruce Borgos, director of audit services for Secova, will be providing a detailed analysis of the company's dependent verification process and results. Additionally, they will address Secova's participation in the review, detailing how the two companies worked together efficiently to reap significant cost savings for Scripps.
"As a health services provider, Scripps knows the importance of employee benefits and is constantly looking for ways to deliver more effective healthcare to their over 11,000 employees," said Borgos. "With this goal in mind, Scripps determined that a Dependent Eligibility Verification project would efficiently address healthcare costs for both the company and employees. By identifying and removing non-eligible dependents with this process, Secova's Dependent Eligibility Verification services saves administrative costs, prevents filing of erroneous claims, and improves the renewal process by ensuring that accurate demographic data is used to determine plan pricing."
The webinar "How a Dependent Eligibility Verification Review Saved Scripps Over $3 Million in First Year" will be presented Wednesday, February 27 at 12pm PST. Webinar registrants will receive a copy of Secova's Dependent Eligibility Audit White Paper describing the financial advantages, trends and best practices recommended with requiring employees to validate their dependent(s) eligibility review.
